Hello everyone,

https://www.fordfiesta.org/threads/fresh-engine-oil-in-air-intake.9295/post-25975

That thread above is exactly everything that I have been going through in the last 2 weeks. That thread has a wealth of information.
The first thing I did was check the hose from the valve area to the air filter box and clean up a bunch of oil. photo_2024-04-17_01-06-29 (7).jpg photo_2024-04-17_01-06-30 (4).jpg photo_2024-04-17_01-06-30.jpg photo_2024-04-17_01-06-29 (2).jpg

After cleaning it out I ran the car and there is air moving from the valve area to the box.

then I checked the spark plugs. first of all 2 were not even hand-tight. The car ha 113K miles I did the spark plugs at 100K here are the pics. They are NGK Ruthminium photo_2024-04-17_01-06-28.jpg photo_2024-04-17_01-06-29.jpg photo_2024-04-17_01-06-29 (3).jpg photo_2024-04-17_01-06-29 (4).jpg photo_2024-04-17_01-06-29 (5).jpg photo_2024-04-17_01-06-29 (6).jpg
I need to get to work for the moment, how can I clean these plugs up? I am going to order the Dbl Plat. Autolite or Motorcraft. Gut do any of these look abnormal?

I found the PCV but seriously, how the heck do you get it out?

Then I read further into the thread about a bad cat. my last real-time test showed a cat temp at 1667 degrees F

Is it me or does the entire exhaust look like it has been way overheated?
I'll clean up the plugs a little, re-gap them, and tighten them a little better this time. I need to get a torque wrench.

Anyway, thanks for linking me to that thread, I am going to run through each item on that thread. and eliminate all the issues.
"once you have eliminated the probable, then
I swear I thought I was the only Fiesta owner on the planet with this problem.

You have to use a long nose pair of 18" Hemostats or a deep well spark plug boot puller.

And no, you are not the only one with this type of condition.

It's seems to be a regular thing - every once in a while someone goes to get an oil change and they add in about 1/2Qt too much oil to offset the oil filter that they think displaces and takes in oil because it was only partially filled when it was installed.

IT's when you drive on the highway or do some hard strong driving right after the oil change - does the air pockets that still need to be burped - don't pass out all that air - instead the oil stays filled in the crankcase but the air doesn't bleed down and out of the filter and affected channels until after several starts and some time to idle to pressurize the oil filter and push out the air in the channels to force out those air pockets.

Its a safe bet to "double check" work so you don't potentially do more damage from the oil fouling out your system.

Glad you have this fixed - as said earlier - you're not the only one

Its ok, for we'd like to keep tied to one, but any results posted help - so don't worry so much about the "two" just keep moving forward in fixing it.
