2012 ford focus rack and pinion issues

I got a 2012 Ford Focus SEL 5spd standard with rack and pinion issues.A couple of days ago it started with stiffer than usual steering but comes and goes.I could here a slight scrapping sound on the drivers side when i turn the wheel.Over the last 2 years pretty much everything was replaced in the front end.I jacked it up and checked i dont see any issues with the front end so im pretty sure its the rack and pinion.As of today most turns the wheel wont return to center and its stiff turning sometimes.I cant afford 1200 for a new one so im going used for 200 but im curious do they all fit from 2012 to 2018 as this is what im told.I found one out of a 2015 auto with low kms but i want to make sure it fits before i buy it.Any help be appreciated thank you
