I purchased a 2003 Focus SPI manual sedan with the encouragement of a mechanical friend.
California car it has a great body.
Learned it wasnt an easy fix.......You guessed it dropped valve seat.
He backed out on the work with me.
I bought a 2001 focus SPI automatic sedan with the valve work already done.
It just has a really shitty body. I had a friend tell me I shouldnt even try to do the swap.
Tells me the cam shafts may have to be swapped out due to the manual/auto change.
I was just planing on swapping the engines out with a 1 ton hoist from the top I dont have a lift.

Any advice that could be giving would be awesome. I live in west michigan if anyones looking for extra work I need the help.

Should I even try it?

Im only $1000 into it all

Honestly I wouldn't do it simply because it has an SPI motor. I had a 2003 SPI for about a year and couldn't sell it fast enough.

It wasn't possible to just fix the problem instead of doing an engine swap?
